Social Work Choice UK Agency are recruiting for a local authority looking for someone who is seeking an exciting opportunity to work in the children Looked After Team. We are looking for an experienced social worker to work with looked after children and young people, carry out court work and some children In need cases. You will join a team which is focused on motivational and Trauma-informed practice models. You will be joining a multi-professional team made up of Senior Social workers, Social Workers, CAMHS professionals and social work coordinators. This local authority has an organisational culture where children and young people are at the heart of everything they do promoting a relational base practice across the service.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Build effective relationships with children, young people, family or carers to decide the best way to keep them safe
•To provide support using best evidenced direct work to address support identified needs
•Work with a range of professionals
•To Communicate clearly, sensitively and listen to children's and family and other professionals
•To listen to the wishes and feelings of children and young people and support parents and carers
•To produce written cases notes and reports that are are well-argued
•To have an understanding and knowledge of child development milestones, and how they can be impacted by trauma
•To have a clear and empathic understanding of how the above issues impact the parent-child relationship
•To have an awareness and curiosity of what the indicators of abuse and neglect are and used to collate multi-agency information
•To complete thorough, child-focussed and ongoing assessments
•To analyse plans regularly to ensure the support provided is making a difference
•Demonstrate accountability for the support being provided by producing case note
•Use the law, regulatory and statutory guidance to inform practice
•Maintain effective working relationships with peers, managers and leaders both within the profession and with others
Qualification & Experience
* Social Work England registration * Post-qualified experience * Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
* Enhanced DBS
* 5+ Experience
* Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and safeguarding practices
